DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

MANDATE

To provide assistance to local government units, non-government organizations, other national government agencies, people’s organizations, and other members of the civil society in effectively implementing programs, projects and services that will alleviate poverty and empower disadvantaged individuals, families and communities for an improved quality of life.

VISION

A society where poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals, families and communities are empowered for an improved quality of life.

MISSION

To provide social protection and promote the rights and welfare of the por, vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals, families and communities that will contribute to poverty alleviation and empowerment through social welfare development policies, programs, projects and services implemented with or through local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations (NGOs), people’s organizations (POs), other government organizations (GOs) and other members of the civil society.

ORGANIZATIONAL OUTCOME

To provide basic social services among indigents clients and help them uplift their living condition.

REPUBLIC ACT NO.9994

An act granting additional benefits and PRIVILEGES to senior citizens, further amending republic act no. 7432, as an amended otherwise known as “an act to maximize the contribution of senior citizens to nation building, grant benefits and special PRIVILEGES and for other purpose”

SECTION 4

Privileges for the senior citizens. The senior citizen

  • To the extent possible, the government may grant special discount in special program for senior citizens on purchase of basic commodities, subject to the guidelines to be issued for the purpose of the department of trade and industry (DTI) and the department of agriculture (DA)

PAANO MAKAKUHA NG SOCIAL PENSION?

BATAYAN PARA MAPABILANG
  1. Senior Citizen nae dad 60 pataas
  2. Mahin, may karamdaman o may kapansanan
  3. Walang natatanggap na pension mula sa SSS, GSIS o iba pang ahensiya
  4. Walang permanenteng pinagkukunan o pinansiyal na tulong mula sa mga kamag-anak

BENEPISYO
  • Php 500 kada buwan o 1500 kada quarter
ISKEDYUL NG PAGTANGGAP NG PENSION
  • Kada unang buwan ng bawat quarter (Enero, Abril, Hulyo at Oktubre)

PROSESO PARA MAPABILANG
  1. Dalhin ang anuman sa mga sumusunod sa pinakamalapit na opisina ng Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) o City/Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (C/MSWDO):
    1. Valid ID na nagpapakita ng kaarawan ng senior citizen
    2. Birth Certificate
  2. I-aassess ng OSCA o C/MSWDO ang kwalipikasyon at pagbibigay alam sa senior citizen kung kwalipikado o hindi.
  3. Para sa mga kwalipikadong benepisyaryo, mapapabilang ang pangalan sa waiting list ng lungsod o munisipyo at ipapasa sa DSWD Regional Office para sa mga bagong benepisyaryo ng programa.
  4. Ipagbibigay sa senior citizen kung opisyal nang napabilang sa benepisyaryo at kung kalian unang makaktanggap ng pension.

  • Binibigyan ng prayoridad ang mga senior citizens na edad 77 years old pataas.
  • Hindi agaran ang pagtanggap ng pension mula sa programa. Ang mga kwalipikadong senior citizens ay magiging opisyal na benepisyaryo ng program kapag nagkaroon ng mga bagong slots sa lungsod o munisipyo na kanyang kinabibilangan.
  • Hindi nangongolekta ang dswd o ang OSCA ng pera kapalit ng pagiging benepisyaryo ng Social Pension.
